Jason Katsikaris is regarded as one of the leading brass band conductors of his generation.
He established his reputation in Australia by taking a band from a small country town from D Grade to become National champions and Australasian Champions. In recognition of this success, Jason was voted “Conductor of the Year” on two occasions, and he was invited to conduct in United Kingdom and Europe.
He established his international reputation when he moved to the United Kingdom and was the Professional Conductor of some of the very best bands in the United Kingdom, including the world-famous Leyland Band in England, whom he steered back into the top 6 of the world rankings, and the Desford Colliery Band also in England whom he led on tour through Asia.
Jason returned to Australia to focus on his legal career and in 2018, together with the band's principal euphonium and Band Manager Danny Alexander, established Sydney City Brass.
